The Countryman pub is transformed following £416,000 investment

The Countryman, located at the heart of East Knighton, has reopened with a new look following a £416,000 investment by Punch.

The Countryman has been made over inside and out to enhance the traditional pub look and feel that the pubs guests know and love. Inside the pub has been completely redecorated including new flooring, cosy new rugs, artwork and quirky bric a brac all matched with feature mood lighting. The existing furniture has been re upholstered with warm, soft fabric and the pubs facilities have been completely upgraded.

The pubs nine en suite letting rooms have also been refurbished to compliment this classic country pub. The rooms have been given a new lease of life with new carpets, wallpaper to complement the existing panelling throughout the rooms, timber furniture, warm upholstered side chairs and quirky artwork making the Countryman pub the perfect base for weekend seaside breaks and family adventures.

Outside the pub has been enhanced with new signage, decoration and lighting. Both the front and rear gardens have been improved so can now be enjoyed all year round. They have benefitted from brand new furniture and the pub now boasts a petanque court which can be booked out for special occasions.

Punch’s managing director Andy Spencer says, “This is a major investment by Punch in a well established community pub and we are thrilled with the new look created here. With this fantastic new look and offer the local community and visitors to the area will benefit from a terrific pub for many years to come.”

The pub has reopened with a new food menu which consists of everyones pub favourites and will soon be continuing their famous carvery. The Countryman has also opened with a brand new crab shack in the rear garden, the crab shack serves a variety of fresh seafood such as dressed crab and prawns, giving customers an authentic seaside pub experience.
