The Kings Head pub in Worcester officially reopened its doors this June following a mammoth £350,000 investment by leading pub company Punch Pubs & Co.
Unveiling a refreshed look and renewed ambition, the pub’s new purpose is to become a true hub for the local community. With a clear vision to play an active role in the local social scene, the pub is set to champion local businesses, support charities, get involved with events and festivals and, importantly, deliver a welcoming, high-quality destination where guests can enjoy a five-star experience on every visit.
Also new to The Kings Head are Management Partner Nikky and her family, including partner Shane, dad Bob, and children Aurora and baby Shane, who are bringing energy, ambition and a strong community-first approach to the pub’s next chapter.
Nikky said: “It’s an incredibly exciting time for us and, after many weeks of hard work from an amazing team, we’re delighted to have reopened this fantastic pub.
“We’re excited to say that food will be available from day one and we’re proud to be offering an excellent drinks range, including cask ales, lagers, ciders, craft beers, wines and a wide choice of spirits, soft drinks and no- and low-alcohol options.
“We’d love people to come and say hello, see The Kings for themselves and be part of our exciting new chapter.”
The investment has breathed new life into the characterful pub, combining timeless style with attractive new finishes. Externally, The Kings Head has benefitted from full redecoration and new signage, alongside improved outdoor seating designed to make the most of its riverside setting. Inside, all areas have been renovated to highlight the building’s original charm, with defined seating zones, as well as all-new fixtures and fittings throughout.
At the heart of the pub’s offer is a strong rhythm to the week, designed to give guests plenty of reasons to return. Regular events will include quizzes, open mic nights, charity events and fundraising initiatives, helping The Kings Head create an inclusive atmosphere while giving back to causes that matter locally.
The reopening is also creating valuable local employment opportunities. Nikky has already added 15 people in a variety of roles and plans to recruit a further 10 team members over the summer, further strengthening the pub’s contribution to the local economy.
Punch Pubs & Co Operations Manager, Tony Riley, added: “We’re thrilled to see The Kings Head reopen following this significant investment. Nikky has a fantastic vision for the pub, and we’re confident it will quickly become a much-loved destination at the heart of the Worcester community. This investment reflects our commitment to creating exceptional community pubs that bring people together and deliver memorable guest experiences.”
