The historic 19th Century pub recently reopened its doors under its original name  following a significant £320k investment.

This traditional community village pub is situated in the heart of Rastrick, in Brighouse near Calderdale and is much loved by the everyone. Work has included a full redecoration to the exterior including new signage and lighting.

The inside of the pub has also been completely overhauled with a full redecoration, new furnishing, flooring and lighting throughout. Creating a warm and relaxing home from home feel whilst maintaining all its existing charm, the Red Lion is sure to be loved by all who visit.

The Punch owned pub will be operated by new Publicans Rachel and Richard Whipp who bring with them a wealth of experience having successfully ran the Airedale Heifer in Keighley since 2017.
Rachel and Richard have a real passion for providing a fantastic experience for customers.

Rachel said, ‘’We love running the Airedale and when our area manager, Andy Brady, told us about the opportunity here we couldn’t resist! The Red Lion is a beautiful pub in a fantastic village and the investment has really done the pub proud. We have lots of plans for the future and together with our pub manager, Christine, we are really looking forward to welcoming customers old and new to come and enjoy their time with us’’

To match a fantastic drinks range the pub will also offer a high quality, all-day food menu with a keen focus on excellent service to customers. The pub will host a range of theme nights including steak nights, pub quizzes and occasional live music.

Following the refurbishment, Managing Director of Operations Andy Spencer said, ‘’This is a significant investment by Punch in a historic community pub and we are extremely pleased with the new look created here. With our new Publicans, Rachel and Richard at the helm we are confident that the Red Lion will continue to operate at the very heart of the community it serves.”.

Punch owns and operates 1300 pubs across England, Scotland and Wales and is investing £32 million in its pub estate in the next year with the right Publicans running their pubs.
