On Friday, 20th February, the historic Sun Tavern pub will proudly relaunch and is poised to become Shipley’s go-to destination for big nights out, everyday socials and weekly entertainment.

Now part of Punch Pubs & Co’s Unity Social division, The Sun Tavern will reopen with a brand‑new look, upgraded facilities and a revitalised community hub at the heart of the town.

Following its six-week closure, the pub has undergone a complete top-to-bottom refurbishment, transforming all internal and external areas. Indoor trading spaces, toilets and the cellar have been fully upgraded, alongside the installation of a heated first-floor balcony – an impressive all-weather outdoor space overlooking Shipley’s future town square.

The pub’s refreshed offer promises unbeatable value, great prices and non-stop entertainment, with the community remaining firmly at its core.

Having built a strong relationship with locals over the last eight years, Management Partner Julie Perkins will continue to lead the pub through its next chapter – marking a proud milestone in her career.

Julie shared: “The transformation is unbelievable. We now have a stunning pub, a safer layout, brilliant entertainment facilities and the best value in Shipley. I can’t wait to welcome everyone back! The Sun Tavern is going to be the place to be.”

The relaunch comes as Shipley continues to benefit from a significant £25 million regeneration, including the creation of a brand‑new town square directly outside the pub – perfectly positioning it at the centre of the town’s revival.

The Sun Tavern will officially reopen on Friday, 20th February, with a full weekend of entertainment planned, plus loyalty cards for the first 500 customers.

More updates about the pub, the reopening and upcoming plans will be shared on the pub’s social media channels and website.
