The Turnpike pub in Middlewich, has re-opened following our £280,000 investment.

New Publican for the pub, Maria Williams, welcomed new and old customers to the pub over the weekend for them to see the enhanced open plan community pub following the transformation.

Maria has a wealth of experience running pubs and a real passion for hospitality. She is focussing on creating a hub for the community, with the Turnpike being a great British local that welcomes everyone and caters for all occasions.

Speaking about the pub, Maria said ‘’I am really excited to be here at The Turnpike. It’s a fantastic pub and I’ve built a new team to help me bring the pub back to the heart of the community. I love the Turnpike and we are here to give a warm welcome to all who want to enjoy this pub with us.’’

To match a new food menu and drinks range, Maria plans to host a variety of events from showing key sporting events on the six newly installed TV screens, to pub quizzes and live music. The pub will provide a live music offer with several acts already booked including, The Vicar’s Son, a well-known local folk duo who will play at the pub in July.

Managing Director for Punch, Andy Spencer said ‘’This is a significant investment by Punch in an established community pub and we are extremely pleased with the new look created. With our new Publican Maria, at the helm, we are confident that The Turnpike has a fantastic future operating at the very heart of the community it serves.”
