The Woodlands Hotel in Oakenshaw reopened its doors this summer with a fresh new look, following a temporary closure and a joint £200,000 investment with Punch Pubs & Co.

The much-loved community pub, which welcomed guests back in August, has undergone a full refurbishment thanks to the partnership between Punch and Publican Lee Marshall, who worked closely with the pub company to bring their shared vision to life.

Publican and Head Chef Lee, who has proudly been at the helm since 2023, said:
“The place looks absolutely stunning – like something you’d expect to find in a city centre. I’m so proud of what we’ve achieved. The Woodlands has always been a beautiful pub, and now it blends traditional charm with stylish, modern touches. Everything has been finished to a high standard. This investment means so much to Oakenshaw and Bradford, and we’re thrilled to offer something fresh and exciting for our guests.”

The transformation includes major upgrades to the pub’s kitchen, which has allowed the team to launch a brand-new menu packed with gastro-style pub favourites designed to suit every taste. Aside from their incredibly popular homemade curries, guests can now indulge in pub classics like Steak and Ale Pie and Beef Lasagne, as well as their new brunch dishes of Fried Chicken Waffles, Smashed Avocado and their new Breakfast Burger.

Outside, the beer garden has been completely revitalised and now accommodates up to 110 guests. With new benches, seating, and planters, it’s a welcoming space to relax, catch up, and soak up the vast range of drinks and food that The Woodlands now has to offer.

Inside, one of the standout additions is a newly built stage, ready to host live music – a much-loved feature at The Woodlands. With a regular line-up of entertainment, Lee was passionate about creating a space for local artists to shine.

He added: “I want to say a huge thank you to Punch and the incredible team who helped bring this vision to life. We’re aiming to make The Woodlands the go-to place to dine, unwind, and connect. It’s a proud moment for all of us, and we’re excited for what’s ahead.”

Guests have already shared glowing feedback, praising both the transformation and the new menu. Comments include: “The refurb is amazing, the staff have worked so hard,” and “The most outstanding refurbishment of a pub I think I’ve ever seen.”

Overjoyed by the positive response, Lee and the team remain committed to certifying that The Woodlands continues to be a vibrant hub for the local community, ensuring it continues to thrive for many years to come.
