The Welcome Inn pub in Skegness will open its doors for the first time in 2026 this July following a £520,000 renovation with leading pub company Punch Pubs & Co.

The transformation work began back in June at the Burgh Old Road pub, and first-time Management Partners Tiana and Lennee cannot wait to welcome guests back through the doors.

Lennee, a prominent local DJ, shared that a thrilling entertainment schedule will be a primary reason that guests return over The Welcome Inn’s threshold.

He said: “I’ve been on the decks for seven years in and around Skegness, so I know how to draw a crowd. We’re planning some fun things such as karaoke, live music, family days and quizzes so it will be great to see people once we reopen.”

Having both visited the pub with their families as young children, it’s the sentimental ties to the popular pub that really drew Tiana in. “It’s surreal to think we’ll soon be standing behind the bar of a pub we used to visit as children,” she said. “We’re so excited to bring the pub back to life and make it a place for everyone – not just holidaymakers but all of our wonderful locals too. The Welcome Inn will be the go-to place for guests to enjoy all year round.”

The £520,000 poured into The Welcome Inn by Punch Pubs & Co makes it one of the company’s largest investments to a single-site pub to date.

An overhaul of the trading area, combined with a new sports area featuring large television screens means that guests will have front row viewing to the world’s biggest sporting events. Alongside that, the decor will be completely modernised to make way for a fresh-new look to complement the outside transformation, new beer garden and children’s play area.

Andy Palfreyman, Operations Manager at Punch Pubs & Co, said: “This is an incredibly exciting opportunity at The Welcome Inn and I’m delighted to be working alongside Tiana and Lennee, who will be instrumental in reviving this local favourite. We aim to make The Welcome Inn the most inviting pub in Skegness, offering great food, genuine hospitality and the area’s best beer garden.”

Also new to the pub will be its brand-new food and drinks offer. With a desire to be known for its entertainment schedule, inclusive atmosphere and cracking menu, The Welcome Inn will offer a new food selection that combines proper pub classics with indulgent flavours, with specials available across the week.

As the final touches to The Welcome Inn take place, Tiana, Lennee and the team are gearing up for a summer of fun at their newly refreshed community hotspot.
