Wheatsheaf pub reopens after transformational investmen
The Wheatsheaf pub which sits in the heart of Alton, Hampshire, recently relaunched following a transformational £200,000 investment by Punch.
This attractive, town centre pub, has been given a new look following an extensive interior refurbishment with more defined trading spaces for customers to enjoy. The inclusion of new, improved bar serveries, fresh decor and newly installed fixed seating has created a warmer, more welcoming atmosphere for customers to enjoy all this pub has to offer.
The Wheatsheaf is the first Punch pub for new Publican, Michelle Murton, who brings a wealth of experience in hospitality. Together with her partner Colin, they have great plans to rejuvenate the pub which will be more family friendly offering regular live entertainment and will continue to be home for pool and darts pub teams. They will also be supported by Michelle’s son, Chris and his partner Stephen, who will be on hand helping with the day to day running of the pub.
Speaking about the pub, Michelle said “We are excited to be here at The Wheatsheaf and have lots of plans to share our experience of running pubs to create a friendly, inclusive and welcoming atmosphere that customers, old and new, won’t ever forget and will keep them coming back for more! We are a really close family who love a laugh, it’s been great getting to know people in the community, welcoming them in to see their new look pub. We are chuffed to bits with the refurb and the feedback from customers has been fantastic!”
The pub offers a range of quality cask, craft and world beers together with an extensive choice of spirits including flavored and specialist gins. Its new food offer will launch in January 2020, offering traditional pub food featuring Ploughman platters and everyone’s favorite Sunday Roast.
