The Railway Vue in Impington closed this September to undergo a transformative £300k investment with Punch Pubs & Co.

Now under the experienced leadership of multiple operator, Daniel Johnson, the pub is set to reopen this October with a fresh new look and feel.

The transformation at the Railway Vue has come at a welcome time locally, with hopes that it will breathe new life into the beloved pub by investing in its future, and ensuring it remains at the heart of the community.

Thrilled at the opportunity to takeover The Railway Vue, Daniel is excited about his new venture and is looking forward to updating the community over the next five weeks as the investment takes shape.

He said: “The Railway Vue is a fantastic pub that is well-loved in the local community. Our plan is to bring it back to life; completely refurbish it and give back to the guests who have been so loyal to it throughout the years.

“Pubs are iconic to British culture and the beating heart of our communities. It’s vital that we invest in them. Whilst the industry continues to change, team Railway Vue will be working hard to make this pub a warm, welcoming and inclusive place to be.”

The pub’s closure will see changes to both its exterior and interior, starting with new signage and outdoor furniture which are a welcome addition to its generously sized beer gardens, alongside new planters and festoon lighting.

Inside, new feature lighting, patterned blinds, bric-a-brac and shelving will create a warmer ambience, with existing furniture being recovered and reupholstered to match the new aesthetic.

Pendant lighting will adorn the pub’s existing pool table, which remains in a dedicated sports area which is soon to be completed with new feature darts boards, and multiple television screens with enhanced sound to create atmosphere and an immersive experience.

Daniel continued: “We know the Railway Vue is popular with all guests within the community, from sports fans to families, so we want guests of all ages to feel comfortable and welcome. Whether you’re coming down to catch the mid-week footballing action, or bringing in the family for burger night, we want you to know that you’ll be guaranteed a good time.”

A trained chef, before moving into the operations side of hospitality, Daniel was keen to revive the pub’s food offering. Working alongside the kitchen team, they’re on a mission to curate a delicious new food menu with dishes that promise to suit every guest’s desire.

Punch Pubs & Co Operations Manager, David Hill, said: “I want to thank the community once again for their patience while their local undergoes these much-needed changes. Our top priority is to ensure this pub remains at the heart of Impington for many years to come. Daniel is a fantastic operator, and I have no doubt he’ll lead this pub to success. I’m excited to see the transformation completed and share the excitement of welcoming guests back through the doors.”

As anticipation builds across the village, regular updates are being shared of the transformation via the pub’s Facebook page.
