The Greenfield pub in Pentre has undergone a significant transformation to ensure the beloved pub continues to thrive at the heart of its community for many years to come.
This transformation is not only an investment in the pub’s future but also a heartfelt thank you to Emma Watts, the dedicated publican who has been at the helm for over 28 years.
Punch Pubs & Co Operations Manager, Rachael Henry, said: “Emma’s leadership and dedication have made The Greenfield a cornerstone of local life. This development is a testament to her hard work and ensures this fantastic pub will remain at the heart of the community.”
Emma, a pub passionate Publican, expressed her love for the industry. She commented: “I’m so grateful to have received this investment, which has breathed new life into our pub. After months of anticipation, the new-look Greenfield is being enjoyed by the community, and we’ve had nothing, but complements shared with us. I’m so excited to see what the future holds here and to continue making memories in this wonderful place I call home.”
One of the focuses of the recent investment was the development of a dedicated sports area, designed to target younger guests in the community and enhance their experience. As such, two dart boards have been installed in a purpose-built space, and a large screen TV will now host major sporting events. The redesigned area has been enhanced with sports memorabilia, new fixtures, and fittings, making it a comfortable and sociable space to join friends and family.
The innovative development of the sports area transformed a previously unused storage space, increasing the pub’s appeal and expanding the area for guests, who are raving about the new facility, which they’ve dubbed to be the ‘only’ adults only sports space in the village.
Aside from the new sports area, a storage and kitchen prep zone has also been developed, perfectly timed with the warmer months as summer trading increases and guests flock to their local to indulge in its home-cooked offerings. Renowned for its authentic menu, The Greenfield boasts lemon peppered chicken skewers, lasagne and cow pie in addition to their hearty Sunday roast and sumptuous desserts, which guests couldn’t wait to enjoy.
The rest of the investment has been revitalised throughout the pub, with an internal bar refurbishment that includes new carpet, fixtures, and fittings, which have brought new life to The Greenfield, making it a welcoming space for every guest who walks through the door.
Having been at the helm of the pub for 28 years, Emma was thrilled to have received the support from Punch and couldn’t wait to show off her new-look pub. She said: “We can’t thank our guests enough for their continued support and custom – it truly means the world to us. We’re thrilled to hear how much they all love the final result, and while it may have taken longer than expected, we can all agree that it was well worth the wait! This transformation is a wonderful recognition of our journey together, and I would like to thank Punch for their continued support.'”
After a small closure in June, The Greenfield is back open and trading, welcoming both guests old and new, with a thrilling line up of events and plans for the rest of the year.
