Pub and location

The Hatfield Tap is situated in the middle of a residential area with a predominantly student population next to Hatfield University and on the outskirts of Hatfield town centre. Hatfield itself is located an hour’s drive north of London in Hertfordshire with good train links into the city via Farringdon.

The Hatfield Tap is a two-bar operation with a large open plan main bar comprising of four large screens, two pool tables, a dart board and various other games. It has a mixture of soft and hard and soft furnishings with external seating to the front of the building. The second bar is in a 220-capacity separate function room utilised for private parties and events with its own separate access. It also has a large catering kitchen which contains all essential equipment to deliver a varied menu.

Private Accommodation

The pub consists of a three-bedroom staff flat, a General Manager’s separate flat with garden and an Assistant Manager’s flat. Both the GM and AM flats have their own separate access.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Proven experience managing a busy food pub or hospitality venue.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills.
  • A passion for great food, drink, and customer service.
  • Commercially astute with experience in stock control, budgeting, and driving sales.
  • Community-minded with a hands-on, can-do attitude.
  • Personal Licence Holder

The Partnership

The Punch Management Partnership offers a unique opportunity to run your own pub business, with affordable in-goings and the freedom to lead your own team, manage your business within a framework and support from Punch in a proven partnership model.

You’ll receive an uncapped share of top‑line turnover, giving you the flexibility to pay yourself and your team in a way that works for your business. Your own Ltd Company will provide the day‑to‑day management of the pub, retain full ownership of team and operational decisions, whilst managing associated costs such as wages and minor repairs. Alongside this, you’ll benefit from extensive operational support, including marketing and recruitment within a framework designed to help your business thrive.
