The pub and location
The Royal Oak is situated on the outskirts of Stevenage Old Town in a residential area just five minutes’ walk from the high street. Stevenage itself is located an hour’s drive north of London in Hertfordshire with good train links into the city via St Pancras International.
Our vision for the pub is offering the best pint and great value pub food where friends & families gather, new friendships are made and experiences shared. A true community pub at the centre of all that goes on in Stevenage. You will show SKY & BT Sports throughout the week, run quizzes, entertainment, discos, karaoke with teams for both pool and darts. You will, in effect, have something for all ages and tastes.
The Royal Oak is a two-bar operation with four screens, two pool tables and two dart boards. It has a mixture of soft and hard furnishings with external garden seating to the front and side of the building. The second bar is used more as the dining side of the pub and is also utilised for private parties and events and has its own separate access. It also has a decent sized kitchen which contains all essential equipment to deliver a core Kindred menu.
Ideal Candidate:
- Proven experience managing a busy food pub or hospitality venue.
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- A passion for great food, drink, and customer service.
- Commercially astute with experience in stock control, budgeting, and driving sales.
- Community-minded with a hands-on, can-do attitude.
