Overview

Pub and location

You’ll discover the Westwood Park Hotel in the market town of Welshpool in Powys, Wales, located close to the Welsh-English border and lies in the Severn Valley, with the River Severn flowing close to the region. The area is well-connected with roads and a railway, providing good links to Shrewsbury and Birmingham.

It’s a traditional coaching inn with seven letting bedrooms that has gained a good reputation as a popular bed and breakfast for walkers, bikers, and contractors in the area. It features a large central bar area to the front of the property with tables that wrap around the U-shaped trading area; there is a darts area, and it previously had a live sports following. The bed and breakfast guests have a small lounge for breakfast and a courtyard area with seating booths and a marquee for live bands during summer.

The current offer has reduced opening hours mid-week, 4-.30-11 pm, and currently, there is no food offer; apart from breakfast for guests. Moving forwards, this pub would benefit from a traditional pub grub food offer at lunchtime.

Seven letting rooms are on the first floor: two double rooms with ensuite and four twin rooms (two with a shared bathroom). They have proven popular with repeat guests, contractors, and tourists.
