Could you run this Brightlingsea pub?
Are you a talented Publican based around the Essex area with strong local knowledge and varied experience in hospitality? If so, Ye Old Swan could be the pub for you.
Pub and Location
Ye Old Swan is a mainstream community pub with four letting rooms in the seaside town of Brightlingsea in Essex, one of the Cinque Ports on the Southeast Coast.
It’s well-established, as the same Publicans have run it for over 20 years; now we are looking for an experienced operator with vision to take the baton and forge the next stage of its successful journey.
Now is an excellent time to take over as, subject to approval, we have full internal and external redecorations planned to modernise the venue, freshening it up for the right publican to take over.
Not only the interior, but a new beer garden area to the rear of the property will come into its own, boosting both wet and dry sales in the process. There is also a patio area to the front of the pub with picnic benches.
The right publican will capitalise on the tremendous food opportunity, serving breakfast to overnight guests, lunch, and dinner, and incorporating seafood and fresh fish specials.
You’ll maximise the use of the public and lounge bar, pool and sports areas, and commercial kitchen.
You’ll also take full advantage of the letting rooms, which are on the first floor, accessible via a staircase from the main bar.
Ideal publican
We’re seeking an experienced operator with good local knowledge, strong community connections and the energy to drive the business forward.
You’ll love people, restlessly seek and deliver new reasons for guests to visit. You’ll craft an irresistible rhythm of the week and have the experience, skills, and creativity to craft a menu well-loved by your locals and visitors to the area.
The ideal publican will also know how to capitalise on the power of social media to drive new footfall to build on the existing trade and bringing the pub to life online with targeted social media campaigns. You’ll ensure your locals make full use of the pool table with sports teams and popular championships and delight them with fresh food from the on site commercial kitchen.
Private accommodation
This excellent business opportunity comes with three bedrooms, a bathroom, sitting room and a private kitchen. Accommodation photos are included in the gallery.
This is a great opportunity for a local entrepreneur to take this pub to the next level.
