A traditional pub in the seaside town of Weymouth, Dorset has reopened its doors with a new Publican and much-loved member of the community, after a relaunch and refurb in partnership with independent pub company Punch Pubs & Co.

Known for its sandy beaches and colourful beach huts, Weymouth is a popular seaside destination and plays host to The Wyke Smugglers, a traditional local pub which sits at the heart of the town and aims to offer ‘something for everyone’.

The investment, completed by Punch Pubs & Co has given the Wyke Smugglers a complete refresh internally and externally with ambitions of giving back to the community and ensuring this fantastic pub is brought back to being a popular hotspot for holiday-goers and locals alike.

Included in the transformation, the inside of the pub has been entirely redecorated to bring a fresh and welcoming presence for all customers to enjoy, a covered side terrace area with an enclosed back garden is also available for private bookings come rain or shine, in addition to a refurbished large function room with private bar which will cater for all celebrations.

Likely to be a hit with the sporting community, the pub will also show live sporting events and fixtures across the weekends, and to encourage pool enthusiasts, a brand-new pool table has also been set up. Keen to withhold a glowing reputation within the community, the new Publican has also opted to provide various entertainment from live music and DJs to karaoke and quiz nights which will be sure to attract large crowds both locally and from afar.

Of course, no seaside spot would be complete without an array of delicious food offerings, which is why The Wyke Smugglers will serve up a brand-new menu that boasts hearty pub classics seven days a week, including fish, chips and burgers and traditional roast dinners every Sunday.

Pub Manager Rachel said: “A community Pub sitting in the heart of Wyke Regis, Weymouth, we are here to make sure that every day there is a reason to visit.

“From great ales, traditional food and a wide range of ciders, we will offer a superb range of drinks and food to compliment any occasion and mood. Family and dog friendly, all are always very welcome. This pub will bring warmth and togetherness and make everybody want to be there on any occasion.”

Punch Pubs Operations Manager Katie Simms commented: “There has been a real buzz working alongside the new team at the Wyke Smugglers to deliver this fantastic investment, and this buzz continues to grow by the day as we work towards the grand opening.

“The team are passionate about providing a great atmosphere for their community and it will certainly be the place to be!”

The investment at The Wyke Smugglers has created five jobs locally, and anyone interested in joining the team can contact the pub directly.
