Following a £40k outdoor investment last summer, the Jolly Roger pub in Gosport has now undergone an interior refresh, ready to welcome guests into the New Year.

Last Summer, Punch Pubs unveiled a complete renovation of the waterfront pub’s outdoor space, which was totally transformed with new furniture, custom-made seating and raised flowerbeds.

This Christmas, the decision to move indoors and revitalise the pub’s interior was greatly welcomed by Management Partners, Melissa Cross and Pru Hennessey, who have been at the helm for over four years.

They said: “We are really pleased with the recent changes, which look amazing!

“Following last year’s big transformation, the inside needed a little TLC, and we’re so pleased with the outcome.

“It’s so lovely to hear such positive feedback from our guests, too. We’re always looking for new ideas and experimenting with our offer, so it’s great to hear that we’re doing something right!”

Since last year’s outdoor transformation, Melissa and Pru have been overjoyed with guest feedback. What started as a one-off idea to host live artists in their beautifully restored garden soon became a weekly hit, with guests stopping by specifically to enjoy the entertainment.

The latest transformation will now enable them to expand their indoor offerings as well. The refreshed interior features new carpets, upholstery, varnished floors and updated signage, already catching the attention of eagle-eyed locals.

With their newly invested indoor and outdoor spaces, Melissa and Pru are focused on ensuring the Jolly Roger remains a family-friendly, inclusive hub. Their strong emphasis on community, weekly activities and their popular food offer has firmly cemented the pub at the heart of the naval town.

Looking ahead, their ambitions show no signs of slowing down. The duo continues to curate new ideas to bring the pub to life, evolve its offer and inspire those moments for many years to come.
