The Wellwood Arms in Amble, Morpeth has thrilled locals with the return of its Sunday Carvery.

A decision made by the pub’s Management Partner, Suzanne Robinson, has been welcomed by the pub’s locals who couldn’t wait to see its return.

With a rich career in hospitality, Suzanne has run multiple pubs. Starting in hotel management before running three pubs and turning her hand to cheffing, she couldn’t wait to embark on the opportunity at the Wellwood.

She said: “The Wellwood Arms is a beautiful pub, and I was incredibly excited to help revive it. Since June we’ve made multiple changes, but our priority is delivering a great service and putting it firmly back on the map – six months in and I’m proud to say we’re doing that.”

Since being at the helm of the Wellwood, Suzanne and the team have made various changes, but one which stands out the most is the grand return of the pub’s popular Sunday carvery.

This December, the pub relaunched the great British classic which offers diners a selection of either meats or a vegan roast, accompanied by freshly cooked vegetables and roast potatoes from £13.95. Aside from their popular roasts, guests can also indulge in the pub’s traditional classics from their seasonal menus, ensuring that there’s a dish for every desire.

Suzanne continued: “When I came into the Wellwood, it quickly became apparent that our guests were missing the pub’s Sunday carvery, so it was important for me to fulfil their requests. For me that’s what hospitality is all about, you can’t always get everything right, but your customers are key in this industry and the satisfaction of playing a part of their experience in your pub is unmatched.”

Set in the heart of Amble harbour town, the Wellwood attracts tourists visiting the North Sea coast but has maintained a strong following from the local community thanks to Suzanne and the team’s extensive food, drink and entertainment offerings.

No two days are the same at the Wellwood. From their weekly quiz nights – which are renowned to the Wellwood – to live music and themed discos, Suzanne and the team have created a consistent entertainment schedule to ensure that the pub is the local hub of activity.

With big ambitions for the future, Suzanne is confident that she can continue to revive the Wellwood Arms by making it the go-to pub in the town, she said: “We want the Wellwood to be the place that people are talking about, it has so much potential, and we know that it is well-loved by our community. Our reviews speak for themselves and I’m incredibly proud of the hard work that the team are putting in each day to ensure our guests receive only the best service and experience.”

With a jam-packed lineup for the rest of the year, guests to the Wellwood can also look forward to the pub’s festive lunch, New Year’s Eve party, disco and karaoke.

More information about the pub can be found on its website and social media pages.
