Overview

Could you run this London pub?

The Auctioneer is a cosy and compact sports pub, converted from being an off-licence in the mid-1980s. It’s nestled within a parade of shops in London, E10.

Historically, the Auctioneer has been a popular music venue. It’s a one-floor bar with a stage at one end and a cellar underneath. The outside space also has space for around eight covers.

This is a wet-led pub catering for all tastes with a range of draught and bottled lager, real ale, wine, spirits, craft beers and ciders.

The ideal operator

We’re looking for a sports enthusiast, even if it’s only from the couch. You’ll also need to be a big personality and a charismatic host, as live events are a key selling point for this venue.

You’ll capitalise on the pub’s location amongst a parade of shops in London. The pub needs a confident and jolly people person who can host a range of live entertainment to keep the locals and visitors to the area coming back.

We’re looking for a creative operator who knows how to reach a new audience using social media channels. You’ll also liaise with local businesses to promote your pub locally. Service excellence will be the focus. You’ll hire and train staff who are passionate about people, taking pride in everything they do.

The location

Leyton is a busy suburb in the borough of Waltham Forest in east London, England. You’ll capitalise on the visitors to the area coming for New Spitalfields Market, Leyton Orient Football Club, and the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. This is a residential area dense with terraced houses built between 1870 and 1910. The pub is ideally located just over six miles northeast of Charing Cross.
