Take the reins of a traditional community pub at the heart of Long Buckby. You’ll be working and residing in a cosy, inviting venue with open fires and a warm welcome that guests love.

We’re seeking a talented operator who is enthusiastic about and knowledgeable in ales. Your knowledge will come in handy, as guests love the beautiful patio at the back of the pub, which is the perfect place to enjoy a cask-marque accredited ale in the sunshine.

Poker and table skittles are popular traditional games among locals, and the trading area features a separate bar and restaurant. The pub also has a large car park to the rear, accommodating up to twenty cars.

You’ll find the Kings Head on the main road through the quaint expanding village of Long Buckby, just five miles from Daventry, and a short walk from Long Buckby Wharf, which attracts tourists during the summer months, in addition to trade from within the village.

The village sits in the county of Northamptonshire just off the main M1 and lies between the towns of Daventry and Northampton.

Ideal Publican

The ideal operator will possess the passion and experience to drive the wet side of the business and launch an irresistible food offering tailored to the tastes of the target demographic. You will also be enthusiastic about cask ales and able to advise your guests should they ask.

You will understand the importance of building local relationships to integrate yourself and the pub into the community. We’re seeking a Publican who will take the time to get to know their guests, what they like to eat and drink and where they want to sit.

You will craft a strong rhythm of the week and host live events that make your venue the standout pub in the area. To drive visitors from near and far, you will advertise your events on social media platforms. This opportunity will also be perfect for a Publican who can market the pub to make it a home for local sports teams and host regular entertainment.

Private accommodation

This fantastic pub opportunity comes with spacious domestic accommodation, consisting of two bedrooms, a private kitchen, an office space and a lounge.
