With the European Championships fast approaching, the Fleece on High Street, Horbury, is requesting all men, women and children to postpone household responsibilities in order to support the home nations during this year’s competition.

Pub Company, Punch, have introduced a campaign called ‘#SayNoToDIY’ to encourage everybody to go to their local pub to watch the matches throughout the exciting football tournament.

Michael Brown, Operations Manager of Pub People Company who lease the Fleece from Punch, said: “Between 11th June and 10th July we want the people of Horbury to come together and fix the nations footballing trophy drought rather than fixing their dripping taps or wonky shelves. It’s a really exciting time for the United Kingdom and we are wanting to bring some fun to it.”

“With three of the home nations competing in this month’s Euro’s, it should be a really compelling time for the pub industry. We wanted to introduce something a little different and why should people be doing chores at home when they could be encouraging their nation” added Andy Wilkinson, Concept Development Manager for Punch.

England and Wales play their first matches on 11th June against Russia and Slovakia, so join the Fleece and #SayNoToDIY and get the jobs done this weekend.
