Punch Pubs & Co won the Best Leased & Tenanted Pub Company award with over 500 sites at the Publican Awards 2022.

The independent pub operator, based in Burton-upon-Trent and operates 1,300 pubs across the UK, received the prestigious award from comedian Paddy McGuinness at the glamourous awards ceremony held at Battersea Evolution on 30th March.

Punch has continued to make significant progress with its Publicans and pubs across the UK – successfully investing more than £90 million across its estate since 2019. Having previously won the same award back in 2020 pre-pandemic, the Punch business and its Publicans have evolved, innovated and pushed onwards in a way that showcases a brilliantly modern & progressive pub company.

Shortly after being named winner of Best Leased & Tenanted pub company, Punch Pubs CEO, Clive Chesser, said:

“It’s amazing to be able to accept this award on behalf of every one of our Publicans, their pubs, and all the amazing people who work tirelessly to make Punch what it is today. It’s been a really challenging time for everyone over the past couple of years, but our genuine passion for pubs, the local communities they serve, and the experience that our customers receive, has helped us through the crisis and is proof of what can be overcome and achieved with a great team around you.”

Paddy McGuinness hosted the renowned Publican Awards ceremony attended by 1,300 people from across the pub and beer industry who gathered to recognise and celebrate the success of the sector.
