Leading pub company Punch Pubs & Co has added to its growing portfolio with the acquisition of The Maverick pub in Stourbridge.

Located on the High Street in Amblecote, The Maverick will join Punch’s Leased and Tenanted estate. The pub will be operated by experienced multiple operators, Ami Sanobar and Darren Paul, alongside the existing manager, Emma and the rest of the Maverick team.

Speaking about the acquisition, Punch Pubs & Co Head of Acquisitions Andrew Cannons commented: “I am delighted to be expanding our portfolio with another fantastic, community-driven pub. It’s great to be working alongside Ami and Darren again, who I have no doubt will embed themselves into the community and help this pub flourish for many years to come.”

The Maverick is locally known for its vibrant live music nights, regularly showcasing local artists and talent. It’s also a favourite among ale enthusiasts, offering a rotating selection of ales and ciders.

Punch Pubs Operations Manager Christian Gregory added: “Ami and Darren bring a wealth of experience to the industry. Their top priority is to ensure The Maverick continues to thrive, delivering an excellent atmosphere and service while supporting the local community. With its already strong reputation, we’re excited to build on The Maverick’s success.”

Punch is continually on the lookout for more quality acquisitions, including packages and single-site opportunities that fit well with its ambition to be the 5 star pub company.
