The team behind The Globe Inn in Swanage are celebrating after being crowned Business of the Year 2025 at the Swanage Business Awards this October.

The beloved Bell Street pub – run by residents Paul and Hannah Jameison, Martin and Sharon Patterson, and Nick, Sue and Nicola Hones – has undergone a remarkable transformation since the group took on the joint venture in 2024.

Their efforts to restore the pub as a vibrant community hub have clearly paid off. In addition to the top accolade, The Globe Inn also scooped Gold Awards for Independent Business of the Year and New Business of the Year.

“Hannah and I were thrilled to attend the award ceremony on behalf of us all,” said Paul. “We’re astounded to win gold medals as well as the overall Business of the Year award. This is a huge honour, and being recognised for our vision, commitment, hard work and dedication makes us all feel incredibly proud.”

All seven publicans live on Bell Street, where the pub is located, and made the collective decision to take it on last year. Since then, they’ve transformed The Globe into a welcoming space known for its quality cask ales, excellent service, and strong community spirit.

Joining in the celebrations was Punch Pubs & Co Operations Manager David Glew, who said: “I’m incredibly proud of the Globe team. Since taking on the pub, they’ve shown unwavering dedication and commitment to turning it around and making it the go-to place in town.

“It’s no surprise they received the Business of the Year award – it’s a testament to their professionalism, genuine passion for pubs and people, and their consistent efforts to delight every guest. They’re inspirational publicans and truly deserving of these accolades.”

This year’s Swanage Business Awards were the biggest yet, recognising 27 local businesses for their contributions to the local economy.
