The Derby Arms pub in Rainford, St Helens, has reopened following a substantial £300k investment by leading pub company Punch Pubs & Co.

The extensive refurbishment has completely revitalised the charming village pub, introducing a fresh new look with a focus on creating an excellent dining and drinking experience for guests.

Reopening on Tuesday, the 17th of February, the refreshed Derby Arms now offers a brighter, more welcoming space that retains the pub’s unique character while adding touches of elegance and modern charm.

Punch Pubs & Co Operations Manager, Alistair Walsh, said: “I am incredibly proud of the transformation at The Derby Arms, and the feedback we have received so far has been fantastic.

“This is a beautiful pub which has undergone a huge transformation to ensure that guests, both old and new, will continue to enjoy their local and see it thrive for many years to come.”

As part of the refurbishment, the bar area has been revitalised and reimagined with fresh décor and brass fonts, while all three dining spaces have been refreshed. The pub’s iconic and characterful beams have been enhanced with new lighting and thoughtfully chosen aesthetics to create a calm and welcoming ambience.

Outside, guests will notice a fully transformed exterior featuring new signage, an updated terrace, hanging baskets, new seating and improved lighting – perfect for enjoying the summer months with friends and family.

Beyond aesthetics, the Derby Arms now boasts a completely upgraded drinks range and an extensive selection of cask, craft, wine, spirits, and soft drink, as well as a new range of classic cocktails. The premium food menu features indulgent pub classics with a twist, like pork belly bites, crispy butter chicken croquettes and honey and sesame glazed sausages, alongside much-loved staples including chicken schnitzel, beef lasagne and beer-battered fish and chips.

Following its successful reopening, the Derby Arms team remains focused on providing a welcoming and inclusive environment, offering guests premium hospitality in a beautifully restored setting.
