The Parkwood Hotel, a beloved community hub in Stockton-on-Tees, has welcomed new Management Partners, Katie and Brian Callendar, to the helm. Bringing a wealth of experience and fresh enthusiasm to the pub, Katie and Brian have been warmly received by guests and locals who were excited to see the pub’s revival.

Brian, who has over a decade of experience in hospitality and previously managed the Bruce Arms in Masham, has a stellar career and reputation within the industry. Alongside the expert skills of his wife, Katie, the duo was excited to completely transform and revive the pub.

Housed in a beautifully converted Victorian house, The Parkwood Hotel has long been renowned for offering a warm and welcoming atmosphere. After a brief closure, refurbishment, and refit, Katie and Brian have created the perfect retreat to sit back, relax, and indulge in their delicious food offerings, drinks, as well as enjoy live entertainment.

Katie expressed her excitement and ambitions for the future. She said: “Brian, the whole team, and I have one joint ambition – to make the Parkwood Hotel the beating heart of Hartburn. We feel so lucky to have this opportunity, and we cannot wait to continue forming friendships, helping make memories, and creating unforgettable experiences for our guests.”

The beautiful pub also boasts six bedrooms, each with a new colour scheme and fixtures, in addition to a brand-new breakfast menu featuring fresh pastries, fruits, cereals, breads, and cooked breakfast items.

Katie and Brian have meticulously planned their menus, featuring a mix of traditional pub classics and world-inspired dishes made with seasonal ingredients and rich, decadent flavours. With the support of their new chef, Scott, their top priority is to ensure every guest enjoys a memorable dining experience.

The new Management Partners are also focused on sports and community events, committing to a regular line-up of entertainment and live music for all guests to enjoy. Just as importantly, they’re dedicated to keeping The Lambton a dog-friendly pub – a decision proudly influenced by their own four-legged friends.

During the pub’s refurbishment, The Parkwood’s generously sized beer garden was also given a refit with planters, an updated seating area, and a pergola, much to Brian’s delight. He shared: “We couldn’t be happier with our new garden and couldn’t wait to welcome both old and new guests. The feedback since our reopening has been amazing, and we cannot wait to spend the summer out here with everyone.”

Following their earlier relaunch, Katie and Brian will be holding another event on Friday, the 15th of August, with complimentary menu tasters and drinks for their first 50 guests. The evening will also be celebrated with live music and entertainment.

With lots of events lined up for the summer and the remainder of 2025, guests are welcome to join Katie, Brian, and the rest of the team to see what their new local has in store.
