The Princess Royal Inn reopens with a transformed new look

The Princess Royal Inn, located at the heart of the historic town of Taunton, has reopened after a £95,000 investment from independent pub operators Punch, with Publican Jessica Biddiscombe remaining at the helm.

This traditional community pub has received a full make over inside and out. It has been tailored with warm, soft furnishings to create a welcoming, cosy feel and has gained a new lounge snug area for quiet drinking and dining. New, contemporary signage and lighting has been installed outside to compliment the pubs friendly and relaxing atmosphere.

The Princess Royal is a new venture for Publican Jessica, who recently took over and runs the pub alongside husband Phil and sons Joseph and Jordan. Jessica has immense passion and great plans for the pub which will now be open all day.

Jessica says, “We are so excited to see the pub following the investment and to continue to run this family business within a family oriented community. I fell in love with the pub as soon as I stepped through the door, it has amazing character and I knew I had to take a leap of faith. It has been great working with Punch who have supported and guided me into this amazing industry. My family and I are really proud to reopen the doors to our customers”.

The Princess Royal will continue to offer delicious food and provide a quality drink offer. In addition to this, Jessica has made this a space for the community to come together to enjoy a brand new, unrivalled carvery every Sunday.

Managing Director Andy Spencer says, “This is a significant investment in a well-established community pub. It’s fantastic to welcome passionate and ambitious people like Jessica into the Punch family and we look forward to continuing to work with them to create an even better pub for the area and local community”.

The pub will continue to show all key sporting events through BT Sports and will host regular live music nights on the weekend. Jessica also plans to introduce a gin and cocktail offer on a Saturday.

The investment will enhance what this epic local already has to give by continuing its current traditional pub game offering of pool and darts. The Princess Royal also boasts two exclusive skittle alleys which can be enjoyed by all and booked for special occasions.
