This September, The Penrhos Arms pub in Anglesey reopened following a mammoth investment with Punch Pubs & Co.

The transformation, which took six weeks to complete, has breathed new life into the beloved local, which is now firmly back as the heart of the community.

New Publicans, Lee and Pauline Nolan – seasoned operators with over 25 years of experience in the industry – are thrilled with their new look pub and couldn’t wait to welcome guests back through the door.

Lee said: “We’re absolutely delighted with the changes at The Penrhos, and even more so with the impact the reopening has had on the community. Pubs really are the beating heart of any town, city, or village, so seeing guests – both familiar faces and new ones – returning to their local is a wonderful feeling.

“The pub looks fantastic, and the transformation has opened up exciting new opportunities for us, especially with our food offering. Guests have been raving about our Sunday lunches, which have been fully booked since we reopened.”

The renovation saw The Penrhos undergo a complete refresh, with extensive upgrades inside and out. Outside, the front of the pub and rear gardens now feature vibrant signage, fresh colours, and welcoming seating areas. And, a new decking area, fencing, and front canopies create an inviting space for guests to enjoy all year round.

Inside, the pub boasts all-new fixtures and fittings, with a warm and stylish aesthetic featuring rich tones, feature wallpapers, and textured fabrics. Elegant pendant lighting adds a cosy glow, while a mix of wooden and leather-upholstered chairs offers comfortable spaces to relax and socialise.

Behind the scenes, the kitchen has been completely upgraded to support The Penrhos’ new menu, which has already been a hit with guests.

Joining the celebrations was local MP Llinos Medi, who visited Lee and Pauline to mark the reopening and welcome them to the community. She shared: “I was delighted to be invited to the newly refurbished Penrhos Arms. The investment has created a welcoming pub that looks fantastic, and it’s clear how much care has gone into the refurbishment. The Penrhos is valued in the local community as well as a welcoming place for visitors. I wish Pauline and Lee every success for the future.”

With huge plans ahead, Lee and Pauline are focused on perfecting their offer, creating a magical Christmas, and making sure The Penrhos continues to thrive at the heart of its community for many years to come.
