Leading pub company Punch Pubs & Co has expanded its growing portfolio with the acquisition of two pubs in the historic town of Upton upon Severn.

The Ye Olde Anchor Inn and The Kings Head, both located on the town’s High Street, will become part of Punch’s Leased and Tenanted estate.

Both are hugely popular in the local community, with qualities that align with Punch’s ambitions of becoming the five star pub company.

Having been a part of the town since the early 17th century, The Ye Olde Anchor Inn is renowned for its wide selection of ales, ciders and lagers, complemented by traditional, home-cooked food served daily. It will continue to be operated by Publican Grahame Bunn, who has been at the helm for over a decade.

The Kings Head, which overlooks the River Severn, offers stunning views from its beer garden, where guests can enjoy homemade treats, authentic pub food and an array of real ales.

Speaking about the acquisition, Punch Pubs & Co Head of Acquisitions Andrew Cannons commented: “We’re thrilled to welcome two fantastic pubs into the Punch family. We know that both of these pubs are well-loved locally, and I do not doubt that with our industry-leading training and support, that these pubs will continue to thrive and flourish for many years to come.”

Punch Pubs Operations Manager Christian Gregory added: “I’m incredibly excited to be working alongside both teams, who have created standout and vibrant community pubs which truly shine in the town’s High Street. We have exciting plans in the pipeline for both, and are looking forward to witnessing their continued success.”

Punch is committed to expanding its estate through more high-quality acquisitions, including packages and single-site opportunities that align with its goal to become the five star pub company.
