The Crown pub has taken centre stage in one of Accrington’s most exciting community projects to date, proudly hosting a brand‑new mural celebrating the town’s heritage and Accrington Stanley’s remarkable story.

Installed on the exterior wall of The Crown – next to the Wham Stadium – the vibrant artwork is already stopping people in their tracks. And it wouldn’t have been possible without the support and enthusiasm of our brilliant Management Partners, Will and Emma, whose backing helped make this long‑awaited community vision a reality.

The mural, created by renowned Liverpool street artist Paul Curtis, weaves together the most iconic elements of the club and the town. It’s designed not only as a piece of art, but as a destination – somewhere fans, locals and visitors will naturally gravitate to for photos, reflection and a sense of pride.

Behind the scenes, Will and Emma played a pivotal part in helping the Official Accrington Stanley Supporters’ Trust (OASST) bring the project to life. Their support ensured the mural had a welcoming, high‑visibility home and could make maximum impact for the whole community.

OASST Chair Peter Leatham shared: “We would like to thank everyone for their support including Will and Emma from The Crown pub. The mural showcases some really key elements of the club and the town’s history, and we’re incredibly proud of what has been created.”

Will and Emma’s commitment to the project reflects the warm, community‑first atmosphere that their pub is known for – not just a pub, but a gathering place woven into local life.
