The Three Little Pigs, a much‑loved community pub in the heart of Crediton, is set to begin an exciting new chapter after joining leading pub company, Punch Pubs & Co’s Management Partnership division.

Backed by a £175,000 investment, the pub will reopen this June under new Management Partners James and Heidi, who are committed to preserving the character, history and community spirit that have defined the pub for nearly three decades under the leadership of Sandra Wannacott and her late husband, Maurice.

The investment marks a careful refresh rather than a reinvention. Known as a true local in Crediton’s market square, The Three Little Pigs has long served as a gathering place for residents, sports teams, families and visitors alike. James and Heidi’s focus will centre on strengthening what already makes the pub special while maintaining its role as a welcoming local hub.

They shared: “The Three Little Pigs is already a brilliant pub with deep roots in the community. Our aim isn’t to change it, but to respect what’s been built here over the last 28 years and make careful improvements that help it thrive. We’re proud to be taking on a pub that means so much to Crediton and to continue its story.”

A key priority for the new management is honouring Sandra’s legacy by working with the existing team to ensure continuity for regulars and the wider community, with friendly, familiar faces greeting every guest who walks through the doors.

The investment by Punch will fund a light internal refresh, including a thoughtful reconfiguration of the bar. Just as importantly, the pub’s distinctive memorabilia and antiques, which form a central part of its personality and charm, will be retained.

James and Heidi bring strong experience as operators and are widely regarded as five‑star Management Partners. Their focus at The Three Little Pigs will be on building long‑term sustainability through strong bookings, events and local activity, making full use of the function space for birthdays, celebrations and community gatherings.

Located in Crediton, an historic market town north of Exeter, the pub benefits from year‑round trade and a lively local calendar, from farmers’ markets to open‑air theatre and music events. While not seasonal, its proximity to Devon’s coast and Dartmoor also attracts walkers and visitors passing through the area.

Following a short closure to complete the refresh, The Three Little Pigs is scheduled to reopen this June with updates being shared with the community on the pub’s social media pages.
